How did they mess it up? I use it when I need the VPN.

In general every browser is some sort of trade off.

They got rid of their bookmark sidebar, but maybe it will be good again now.

Same here, I had been only using Opera for their VPN.

Now that Slimjet has messed up their bookmark sidebar I'm mainly only using it for their Youtube downloader. I don't know why they did that though. They still have the bm sidebar but they made it very difficult to see. Why? I seem to be the only one complaining about it.

Just installed the latest Firefox without importing settings or attempting to make it like the last time Firefox was my default browser many years ago.

Not special plans to use it much, but I like having a back up browser that isn't Chromium based, just on GP.

Does it have a bookmark sidebar? I also used FF as default browser many years ago when it did.

Sort of. Check it out and see if you like it.

I'm rather a browser collector myself, so I don't have to wait until I get mad to switch browsers.

Ctrl-B does the trick.

You can also have the bookmarks across the top, or toggle the sidebar with a toolbar button.

Caution: Firefox is none too secure these days.

Not for me.

How come Slimjet's illegible bookmark sidebar problem isn't bothering anyone else?

Because I never use the sidebar at all anyway.
That includes on other browsers that do it better.
