In Chrome, user can move mouse to the topmost line of pixels on the screen and still be able to click “+” button. In Slimjet, he cannot. It is very important that he could, so it would not be required to aim vertically at “+” button. Currently it is far easier to open new tab in Chrome than in Slimjet because of that.
Also it would be much better if clickable area of "+" button was larger horizontally (to put it simply, make "+" button bigger, maybe even rectangular, maybe even a third of the length of tab). The easier a user can create new tab - the better. Also, opening new tab when user middle-clicks on empty space to the right from tabs would be helpful as well.

Good point.
This is not a Bug. I have moved your topic to the General forum.
You can also get used to pressing Ctrl+T, might be faster once you teach your hands/fingers to do it.
