Where is login data stored? (locally..cloud...Google)

.
Where is our login data stored? Is it on my hard drive, or is it stored in a database somewhere?
If the latter, who manages/safeguards it?
Is it encrypted/decrypted only on our local system in either case with the Master Password never transmitted?

You did not specify if you were asking about the QuickFill feature uniquie to Slimjet or about the Chromium engine user/password method.

This other forum post answers the Google Chrome question (which will probably be just about the same as Slimjet does when you use the Chromium method and don't use QuickFill)

some Slimjet forum discussion here

I think I've seen a better answer to the QuickFill process somewhere, I'll keep looking.
