[Feature Request] Option for only one window

Post by WatsonRus »

Need option for allow only one window in browser, like present in Maxthon 3/4. Links that must be opened in a new windows, or pop-ups, instead of new windows will be opened in new tabs.

He said " instead of" new windows will be opened in new tabs" or am i seeing that as different thing and the click on program shortcut option was added because of viewtopic.php?f=5&t=92 which is different to what the OP has requested to me.
I may be way off the mark so a soz if i am :)

I read "need option for only allow one window in browser...." and then "instead of new windows [,] will be opened in new tabs."

So to me, the user wants tabs instead of windows...but either way, there are settings to do what he/she is asking.....just do opposite of what I have set if you want more windows!

@watsonrus - can you clarify? You might use Maxthon 3 or 4.....I/we may not. (I was one of the testers on the original Maxthon project, even as MyIE2!! Dumped out when they went a wrong way in M2, too much bloat.).

I reckon he wants to be able to open multiple web pages in just one window.

Well I don't know any chrome extension that does this, but Firefox has something what you described. Now, we just need something built for chrome.

something like this one (I haven't tried as no desire or need)? Obviously watsonrus needs to respond to be really clear what he/she wants.

Yes. Exactly him and I use. With requested option it is needed, that new windows were never opened, and tabs were opened, even at pressure of Shift-click.

May help, an only built-in option will be better. While I use Join Tabs.
