opensuse - slimjet 19.0.2.0 no sound for videos on some sites

Works with youtube, and a few other video/music/ads in pages sites, but there are a few sites it just won't play the sound for videos regardless of how I manage the content settings.
The little speaker does not appear in the tab.

oddly enough the Chromium 66.0.3359.117 (what 19.0.2.0 is built on) build does once I get all of the hoops jumped through to play videos and flash with it!

Any help for this? IIRC an older version (16.0.9.0 or 17.0 2.0 or....) did play video sound for every site that needed sound.
