I found the solution, it's definitely a libffmpeg problem. I installed chromium & chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra. I then replaced the slimjet libffmpeg.so with the one in chromium. Presto! Videos now play without crashing. Hope devs can fix it in this version or next.

Thanks, it works great! I use Debian 9 and because debian doesn't offer chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra package I had to download the latest ubuntu package (Bionic Beaver) from here: https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keyw ... mpeg-extra. Then I just extracted the libffmpeg.so and copied it to /opt/slimjet folder.

Oh, good. Not sure if the chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra is actually needed, maybe would have worked without it. But, I'm not gonna mess with what worked.

Slimjet 18.0.1.0 now plays videos fine for me on 64-bit Arch Linux, using newly recommended Github libffmpeg 0.28.2

:) again

Strange, the github one didn't work for me on 18.0.1.0. Maybe they changed it? Anyway, I snatched the one from chromium browser and it works fine.
