Split screen

I thought at one time there was a view option to split the screen into two areas that would operate independently. But today I can't find it. I know I could drag a tab off the area used by Slimjet, but that doesn't give all the usability of a true split screen and is awkward at best. Anyone know how to split the screen?

right click an open tab, select Tile this Tab on the Right side, see if that does it for you
