Which Ad Blocker?

I want to use an Ad Blocker, but there are several offered. The user ratings are always about 3/4 good, 1/4 bad. What are your experiences with Ad Blockers in SJ?

I would first try the famous Adblock Plus that was originally based for FF, now supports Chrome/Slimjet, (https://adblockplus.org/) and then try Chromes Adblock (https://getadblock.com/), this is built/written from the ground up to be optimized for Chrome/Slimjet.

I have recently got off adblock and am using adguard on all my pc's now. It is as good as the others, half the memory and tons of filter choices.

ublock for me, adblock+ and adguard both have acceptable ads not filtered unless you dig into their option pages and on my system both eat twice as much ram as ublock. Ram usage is probably higher in adguard because unless you take the time to add your own filters the default ones are very aggressive (note: adguard chrome extension used not desktop/windows one).
I just use Fanboy Ultimate Adblock list https://www.fanboy.co.nz/filters.html with ublock.

I was having massive problems with multiple entries for each item in the tab navigation history. Switching to Adblock Super solved it. I only wish I could whitelist individual elements on a page.

I think Ghostery allows you to selectively block page elements if that's any help but I'm not sure if you can whitelist a page then just block elements you want to

I just tried Adfender and it's great! The program supports multiple browser, platforms, and is very light. But, the downside is that it does not block ads on secure websites (https) and is not compatible with ABP for IE. Though, it also offers automatic updates and is free of charge with no virus/bundleware included. So if this is for you (the all in one), then I recommend it to you.

This caused me to try the ublock. Less ram "eaten" is always welcome, and I use the fanboy list in Slimbrowser since many years. Until now, ublock does its job fine without any disturbance.
