My point is Slimjet must be "low profile but high performance".
Congratulations, SJ team... I've tried SJ ver 2.1.5.0.
Now I enjoy SJ as my primary web browser.
SJ feature of downloading video is excellent.
SJ speed is now stable and faster than previous.

I posted this today in the newsgroup "alt.comp.freeware":

"I've been using this Flashpeak browser since mentioned by Zo on 1/10/15. Extremely fast, good feature set, some innovations. Uses "blink" engine (as does Chrome) Interesting alternative to the mainstream browsers. Has privacy features, some customiation possible.
A "work in process" (and progress).

I'm back on Slimjet after Chrome completely pooped out and started eating CPU and memory, which incidentally is exactly what made me jump from Firefox to Chrome before that, lol.

Glad to see Slimjet is still in development :D

I have been promoting Slimjet on my Facebook profiles. A few of my friends said that they would give it a try.

Dear devs, as mentioned before slimjet is great.

But: make it better with useful features without making it bloated. Give as much of advanced settings for pro users, but leave choices!

DESIGN:

- slimjet: looks like made in 2008 and never was changed... flat UI ! nice icons! better GUI! come on.
- website and forums: same thing. totally unmodern. totally not up to date styling.

You want more success? Do something about your web appearance (forum and website) and give slimjet a new face. As said before, have a look at coolnovo (sadly discontinued). That GUI is great! Get a GUI like that and add some features they had.
Here in Germany we have a saying: "the eye is eating the meal too"... got it?

I did spread the word but after some days slimjet gave me bugs and the ugly GUI annoyed me like hell. Back to chrome.
But I would spread the word again if there would be changes regarding stability, less bugs and a GUI makeover.

Caligula, I'm sort of baffled by your comments.

I'd never heard of Coolnovo, but by your description of it I expected to see screenshots of it that took my breath away. Instead, they looked pretty much exactly like...Chrome, which Slimjet also resembles mightily (for obvious reasons). So, I guess you really, really, really, really like sawed-off tabs then? And extremely subtly different toolbar icons? Because other than that....

As for the forum, phpBB boards are very common and quite good, certainly better than the horrible forums that Google had until recently. I also like the Web site.

Here's my two cents. Slimjet, in my experience, is perhaps the best browser available, and it's still young and has a lot more potential. I'm very pleased with it and have donated.

I agree that it could use some cosmetic improvements. It's not bad right now, but it could be better. I'm not enamored of the name either.

But those are minor. In my thinking the one thing central to SJ's growth is a vibrant user community. And the one thing central to that is admin participation.

Users like to feel a part of the product and its growth. That comes through dialoging on features and bugs, problems and requests, and the current change log. It comes from having a sense of where the product is going. And that can only come from owner involvement, which in my view has been pretty sparse.

It doesn't have to be a full-bore web portal such as Opera had (and as successor Vivaldi is setting up), though that's not a bad thing. But the forums should be robust, or there's a problem.

I don't want to take Flashpeak away from development, but some quality time here would be a definite plus in my view.

Yeah i was pretty much thinking the same thing, more input here and a push towards the user base to this forum, which is important for various reasons. For example I can get firefox pretty much to look and act very similar to slimjet with various addons etc but i have no input in their development whereas here i feel i have some small input on how slimjet is developed so i'm pretty sure other people would think the same.

The browser itself needs something unique to make it stand out from the various chromium forks that are out there already, the last few months have been mainly fixes which i understand are important in development rather than anything to make people think wow that's a nice feature i'll give that browser a try.

@rseilersj the default "coolNovo" theme, not the default "chrome" coolNovo theme looks like this (below link), which is IMO way cooler than slimjet's and chrome's GUI.

The board itself is OK, but they left it with the deafult header grafic logo ... - fail.
And a modern website looks IMO like this (link below), not like the slim website.

Do you guys have twitter yet?
I will help there :) https://twitter.com/beastusa

I also share your browsers on my geek site http://www.beast-usa.com - http://www.beast-usa.com/downloads/brow ... wsers.html

And here http://happyasis.com/forum/thread/2/int ... fox-opera/ (I also send this to twitter a few times per month)
One of the members told me about your browser so I have been telling as many as I can. (Newest last page) Testing the newest version right now before I upload it.
I also do remote repair on 200+ computers, manage a couple businesses computers and either 32 bit or 64 bit goes on every one of them!
