I don't think the Chrome Cleanup Tool requires the ability to see your Slimjet installation. Possibly, it would not see bad extensions. But I'm sure it would not have any trouble looking for installed programs that are problematic.

You probably had Slimjet running, reduced to the taskbar, when you shutdown/resarted your box. And for some reason the OS did not shut down Slimjet in the preferred manner.

I have not seen or found a user toggle for this behaviour.

I see. At this time you would need to resort to the History or possibly Frequently Opened Sites, which is annoying I'm sure when compared to an actual list of previous sessions.

click the Settings Gear Icon at the upper right

select and click, "Restore tabs in last session"
