Re: Videos do not play on Twitter
Maybe there's more interplay on facebook. I don't know, as I don't do facebook. The problem is that unless one can get peer help on a problem here, he is left hanging. That's a bad support model. I'm not complaining. I realize that SJ is free, and I appreciate it for what it is - the best browser ma...

Re: Videos do not play on Twitter
This problem has been discussed here a few times, going back at least to August, in a thread I started: http://www.slimjet.com/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=932 There hasn't been a word from Admin on the problem that I'm aware of. My backup chromium browser, Vivaldi, plays the videos perfectly, a...

Portable version not picking up copied profile settings
I'm trying to get a SJ portable install on a USB stick to work using my Default profile copied over. But it keeps opening as if a brand new, clean install. I've tried renaming the profile, and speccing the profile name in the launch command, and nothing works. I finally synced the portable version t...

Re: I have a friend with questions....
There's no way that i personally have the time or interest to definitively nail down everything SJ does behind the scenes. I believe, though, that the privacy warriors - of which there are many - do, and would let it be known loud and clear if SJ were cheating. And if that were to happen, you could ...

Re: Ongoing crashes when clicking links in the bookmarks bar
That's just the way I felt when I discovered it. A simple workaround for google's intransigence.

Simply empty it, and it won't show. I created an "All" folder that I put dead storage into. It takes up minimal space on the BM bar.

Re: "This browser does not support video playback"
And another: "why Chromium does not support H.264/MP4" Because it does not support proprietary codecs. Only free and open-source codecs are used. Note OpenH264 exists and is supported by Firefox... but Chromium does not use it :/ If you are developer, you can build your own Chromium versio...

Re: "This browser does not support video playback"
Came across this: But do you use the official build ("dev-official") or others, in your chrlauncher.ini file? With "ChromiumType=dev-official", MP4 videos do not work natively. Change to "ChromiumType=stable-codecs-sync" for example. Update. -https://www.reddit.com/r/Ch...
