Try using the IE TAB extension which emulates Internet Explorer within Chrome and allows use of Silverlight and Java. I think this extension will only work on Win OS computers.

If your basic user settings, extensions, and favorites have been previously saved in the cloud after logging in you should be able to simply login again and the browser will bring the settings back down to the installation.

Linux installations are somewhat problematic and I have very little experience with them. I cannot offer more help. Someone else would need to step in at this point.
