Got it. Thanks. What was wrong with the old way of handling the extensions? Less to do with a decision by Slimjet and more a question of going along with Chrome in the absence of a strong reason not to. Previous example of a strong reason not to: Chrome removed the warning for closing multiple tabs...

Just checked and no problem viewing YouTube (or other video sites) at high resolution.
But my set up is not yours.
My guess is a bandwidth problem, probably not browser related though it could be somehow.

Just an observation:
In my opinion, the Slimjet native ad blocker is really not too bad, unless you're extra paranoid like me.

Not a Slimjet issue because I disabled the native ad blocker.

I recommend disabling the native ad blocker and installing AdBlock Plus.
Of course there is an arms race between the ad blockers and the anti ad blockers, but AdBlock Plus tends to stay ahead.

No reason the Slimjet devs can't put it back.
As they did with warnings about closing multiple windows, removed from Chrome but still thankfully in Slimjet.
