Re: Norton 2014 blocks use of Slimjet
This seems to be a frequent problem that goes back years, with any of the Chromium derivatives. Check out https://startpage.com/do/search?q=norto ... ess+chrome. The second thread suggests using a Norton tool to remove and reinstall the prog.

Re: Unattended install
It's usually a lot of fun. The business end of it - not so much. As for HP, etc, I've found that they all make good stuff, they all make garbage. HP has a chronic problem with fans, but is generally consistent. Dell has some great models, but a lot of clunkers. Same for service - they all have done ...

Re: Request new feature - Append .com after URL is entered
It's already set up to add .com if you hit CTRL-Enter, if that's what you mean. Opera used to have three such hotkeys, for .com, .net, .org, for example, all configurable, but I don't think we have that yet.

Nice option: Use direct links off search page
I just discovered the ~use direct links from search page~ option (under Tracking). Very nice. Many don't know that google uses redirection to track every click made off its searches. Hi Jeff,
Yes, I do carry over a profile with all my settings, automatically as part of a batch file. But what I'm looking for is to install SJ without interaction.
Laptops are interesting, eh?

Unattended install
I refurb laptops and have been doing a lot of SJ installs. Are there any switches available? I would like to avoid interaction, set it as the default browser, and avoid an automatic first run. Thanks.

Re: Text box behavior
Thanks. I decided to forgo any scroll to top extension (the one I cited is no longer made, I see). But your suggestion gives me another idea to think about - I could configure a gesture for StrokeIt, to which I have consigned all gestures on the system, to do the deed.

Re: Text box behavior
It was the extension, Scroll To Top Button, v 6.3.1, which I disabled a couple of days ago. Time to find an alternative. Thanks.

Re: Text box behavior
Now it even works in my main profile. Either I posted the wrong url or the couple of changes I've made in extensions this week have made the difference. Will keep observing. Thanks.

Re: Text box behavior
Indeed. It works with a fresh profile. Another extension must be at play here....
