How To Backup Your User Data Folder
Keep in mind that if you use the standalone version your user data will be in the standalone installation directory and not the app data folder tree.

You have not specified your operating system. If your running Win XP the installer will point you to version 10 on purpose as that is the last version the developers will work with to run properly on the XP systems.

I'm thinking you jumped too many versions at one shot. It might pay off to revert back to your vs 6 installation and then install the last iteration of vs 7, 8, 9, etc.. until you get to 11.

The 64 bit version uses more RAM while running. The improvement in browser performance over the 32 bit is not perceivable by the human eye. Because of this the developer recommends the 32. If you have more RAM than you ever use it doesn't matter which of them you choose.
