Re: Why is Slimjet 3 months behind?
You also should note that Chromium/Chrome v53+ brings a new UI called Material Design, so we might have to wait a little longer for them to insure we have the same UI look that is unique to Slimjet. Chrome itself ("chrome://flags") provides a way to change the look back to what is was, so...

Re: CPU spiking at web page loads
Also, I should have posted. Running Speedyfox periodically will normally result in a faster startup. The problem could be something as simple as waiting for the hard drive reading the user profile. Wow, never heard of that app, thanks for the tip! I will try it out if I can't fix Chrome on my own.

CPU spiking at web page loads
Whenever a new web page loads, my CPU spikes at about 90%. In Chrome's own Task Manager, it's the "Browser" entry that uses the cpu, which for some reason only goes up to 30% even tho the overall CPU usage of my system is much higher as stated above. It doesn't happen immediately when the ...

Page loading generates high CPU
Page loading generates high CPU, especially Gmail. It always takes 1-4 seconds before anything is clickable on a web page.
I have a Samsung 850 EVO SSD and a decent CPU.
edit: I just updated to 7040 and I still get the CPU spikes.-

Can you open bookmarks in a new tab?
Can you open bookmarks in a new tab instead of the current tab? I can't seem to find any relevant settings for this.
