Re: Both VP8 and H.264 are still unavailable under Win XP!
cwm4bama , I know about that. However if I disable Flash, then YouTube videos won't play at all (since HTML5 video playing is broken as there is neither VP8 nor H.264). Adding h.264 support in XP is impossible since h.264 codec is not available in Windows XP. I am not exactly sure why VP8 is missin...

Re: XP support will be dropped in Slimjet 12
I'm really sorry to hear that, however then please make SlimJet 10 or 11 a feature-frozen LTS (long term support) version with only bug and security fixes applied. Even a 3-year-old Chrome can display most websites correctly, so it would be good for years. Security updates mean the most vital part w...

Re: i like slimjet but one nagging issue
Works fine under XP with SlimJet version 10.0.7.0.
I think you should double-check date and time, mostly its year part.

Please keep up the support for XP. Slimjet is the only secure and up-to-date choice for XP users.

Both VP8 and H.264 are still unavailable under Win XP!
I'm so glad and thankful that you continue the support for Windows XP on the first place. Nevertheless, I'm begging you to provide me a simple way of HTML5 playback of WebM VP8 and H.264. I don't want Flash Player playing YouTube videos. It is slow! Also I don't want to use outdated Chrome for just ...

Re: [Feature Request] Enable playback of WebM VP8
What I still don't understand why I have to install a bloated codec pack while 90% of its codecs are useless for me. Just tell me the name of the single codec that will make SlimJet H.264 or VP8 work. Why isn't there a step-by-step howto about this or some disclaimer that will clarify how SlimJet us...

Re: [Feature Request] Enable playback of WebM VP8
Although Shark007 codecs work with other applications, it doesn't have a codec pack dedicated for Windows XP. I tried to install Shark007's Vista Codec pack to my XP system but still the same. I also tried installing SlimJet (I used it in portable mode). Nothing changed. Could someone help me debug ...

Re: [Feature Request] Enable playback of WebM VP8
I think a howto / checklist would be useful regarding this topic. Even some notice into the installer because Flash Player wastes a lot of resources and the overall experience can give the impression that SlimJet is slow and has a hard time playing video (while it's a bit faster than Chrome and can ...

Re: [Feature Request] Enable playback of WebM VP8
So you mean, if I install FFDShow that registers every format SlimJet supports, SJ will use these directshow codecs for decoding both VP8 and H.264?

[Feature Request] Enable playback of WebM VP8
Hi, I have recently switched to SlimJet because of Windows XP support ending in Chrome. I noticed that most of the YouTube videos are played by Flash Player instead of HTML5, then went to the https://www.youtube.com/html5 page and noticed that neither WebM VP8 nor H.264 are supported. I read that H....
