Wow, I never would have thought that this wasn't a "just me" problem.

It's like something important expired.

And I keep stumbling on it because it's really close to another one that I use.

CTRL+backtick (which is the key commonly to the left of the '1' in the top row--there's also a ~ on it)

That's a very good idea, but it's already white (bookmark_text": [ 255, 255, 255 ]). And it is white, except when it's in auto-hide mode, when it's overridden by this problem.

It seems to be related to bookmark autohide: if you disable that, the coloring is correct. An odd bug but a new one.

I think it's all added themes, since others I've tried, such as Slate, show the same issue.

It really used to be at chrome://flags/#side-panel (in Chromium) but now no longer is (even in Chrome) for whatever reason.

Maybe it'll end up like the Search Tabs button -- there whether you want it or not.
