Is the blue Facebook menu bar at the top of the page disappearing when the page is scrolled for everyone?
It's really annoying!
It doesn't happen in Google Chrome or Firefox.

Anyone?
I just need to know whether this is an intrinsic problem with Slimjet, or whether it's something wrong just on my system.

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
I have not experienced this problem. Some comments exist out there in internet land saying that chrome has experienced this problem if it is zoomed to 110%. And it corrects the problem if you zoom back to 100%. I could not duplicate it on my box, so I don't know how reliable that is, but you might check your zoom just to see.
For those of you who wear aluminum foil hats, the voices lie, don't believe them!
Mostly my replies are about Windows OS. If not I try to remember to specify Linux.

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
Thanks!
I did find in my researches that this could be related to the page zoom level, and changing the zoom (and then refreshing the page) does make the problem go away, but only temporarily. Even if the page zoom is left with it working OK, when I go back to Facebook again it's always broken again, so although it looks as if it's zoom setting related, changing the zoom level is not a fix. I've now found that Opera has the same problem BTW, so I guess it's a Chromium thing, but Google Chrome seems to always work correctly!

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
Try using the SJ menu for settings and change your default zoom setting to 100%, else each time you reload SJ it will default back to your original setting...works for me and my default is 125% for my laptop screen display..

I tried experimenting with the zoom settings, but nothing seems to provide a permanent cure.
Even when it appears to be OK, when I restart Slimjet and login to Facebook again, the menu bar has always gone back to disappearing on scrolling again.
The only "fix" I've found is to press F5 to reload the page after logging on, and that cures it for that session, but I have to do this every time.
All my zoom settings are at 100%

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
For a very satisfying Facebook experience, check out the following two extensions. I run both and Facebook is a much more pleasant place to visit than viewing the site the way Facebook wants me to.
Social Fixer is one:

FBP is the second one:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... cmdjhagpep
Their respective sites are here :

and here :

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
Thanks, I'll look into those, but presumably neither of them fixes the menu bar problem!
Re: Facebook Menu Bar
Yes they do. In FBP you can choose to Freeze Top Nav Bar.DaveHawley wrote:Thanks, I'll look into those, but presumably neither of them fixes the menu bar problem!

Re: Facebook Menu Bar
Thank you, I'll certainly try that out!
I don't understand why anyone would want the menu bar not to stay on the screen all the time.
Why on earth have Facebook programmed it not to be like that in the first place?!
