Bookmark side panel on Version 34.0.1.0
I just installed Version 34.0.1.0. Now it is very hard to read my bookmarks as they are black on a dark gray background. Is there a way to change that? Changing the theme doesn't help.

I solved my problem with the bookmark text by opening the extension folder in the browser's profile and editing the text colour for the bookmarks in manifest.json. Maybe that would work for you?

Sorry I don't follow those directions. Where is manifest.json?
I found this discussion from 2 years ago.
"How do I change the bookmarks bar text colour?"

I installed the Dark Reader extension but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Is nobody addressing this? Why was it done? It has made Slimjet pretty much unusable for me, so now I am always using Vivaldi browser instead.

Re: Bookmark side panel on Version 34.0.1.0
I am using a theme with Slimjet. After I updated to version 34, I found that the labels for the folders in the bookmarks toolbar were hard to read from poor contrast. I opened the folder for the theme settings in my profile and edited manifest.json in that folder. I changed the text colour for the bookmarks, and that solved the problem.

ThisPC>WindowsC>Program files>Slimjet>MEIPreload>manifest.json
Then what? How do I edit manifest.json?

You got the wrong directory. If you have a theme installed, that file is at ...>Slimjet > Default > Extensions > [ID number of the theme] > [version number] > manifest.json.
To find out what the ID number of the theme is, you can look it up using chrome://system/ and then expand "extensions".

Wait a minute. You are looking in the program directory of Slimjet, not the profile. If you do a search for IndexedDB, that should lead you to the profile.
If you have a theme installed, in the profile there should be an Extensions directory under Default. Both extensions and the theme should be in that directory, but the folder names are ID numbers, not the names of the add-ons.
